Mr. Vath Chamroeun
H.E. Mr. Vath Chamroeun (OLY) is a former Olympic Wrestling Athlete from Cambodia, who competed at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
He is a prominent figure in Cambodian sports reform and leadership. With a comprehensive academic foundation, including an MBA from Preston University and a degree in French language proficiency, he has dedicated his work to developing sports and youth programs in Cambodia.
Mr. Vath has held various governmental roles such as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and previously at the Ministry of Tourism. He also served as President of several national sports federations including Kun Khmer, Bokator, and Cambodia MMA, reflecting his commitment to advancing Mixed Martial Arts in the country. Over the years, Mr. Vath has earned numerous credentials in sports training from various international institutions. Notably recognized by the World Olympians Association in 2020, he has been the backbone of organizing major regional sports events, including the 32nd SEA Games.
His long-standing position as Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and in sports governance underscore his influential role in shaping Cambodia’s sports industry and ability to contribute to advancing MMA throughout Asia.
